Prenatal and Restorative Yoga for Women
with Diane Robinson
Restorative yoga is a gentle practice which promotes deep relaxation and healing. Many poses (asanas) are done seated or reclining. The body is supported using props such as blankets or cushions. This allows total relaxation, release of tension, opening up of the body, and creates space for deeper breath.
The restorative prenatal poses are considered among the most beneficial for the expectant mother. These poses relax, open, and strengthen. Restorative yoga can help alleviate many of the common discomforts of pregnancy such as nausea, backache, and swelling.
Relaxation breathing techniques promote calm, focus, and a healthy body-mind-spirit connection.
